About NaMPET - NaMPET Lab

Power Electronics plays a very important role in any country's industrial economy. Identifying it's positive effects on many factors like increase in productivity and quality, improvement in energy efficiency and quality of power systems, environment friendly power generation and mass transportation systems, Department of Information Technology (DIT) has launched a National Mission on Power Electronics Technology (NaMPET) with the vision of making India a dominant player in Power Electronics at the international levels by the year 2009. Leading Academic institutions, National R&D institutes, and industries which are either manufactures or users of Power electronics equipments are participating in this national initiative. C-DAC Thiruvananthapuram, (The National R&D institution coming directly under the administrative control of DIT, Ministry of Communication& IT, Govt. of India) is the Nodal Centre to co-ordinate the various activities coming under this programme.
