The concept of this mission programme is based on creating a strong network among the organizations actively involved in PE while they are geographically separated. A Nodal Centre for this programme is established at C-DAC, Trivandrum, embedded in the Power Electronics Group of the Centre.
Nodal Centre at C-DAC (T) is identified because of the following reasons.

• C-DAC (T) is a national R&D institute directly under the administrative control of the
  Department of IT, MCIT, Govt. of India.
• It has a strong PE group with wide experience of developing successful PE products/ systems.
• A very good industry interaction by way of transfer of technologies, field implementations etc.
• Close association with IISc and IITs.

The following Academic Institutions are initially identified as the participating agencies for this mission programme:
   • Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
   • IIT Mumbai.
   • IIT Kharaghpur.
   • IIT Kanpur.
   • Bengal Engineering and Science University (BESU), Kolkatta
   • Anna University, Chennai.

The following industries are initially identified as the participating agencies for this mission programme. This network will be widened by including more manufacturers and user industries.
