  Funding Pattern

The primary objective of this effort is to really come out with some world-class designs in the next couple of years from India. Even after more than a decade of economic liberalization in the country one cannot confidently say that the Indian industry will provide financial support for undertaking advanced technology development programme at least in this particular area. Some of the users or even manufacturing industries can support specific development activities as per their own needs which may not be necessarily the latest or a futuristic technology. However, even such supports from the user or the industry are definitely welcome for the overall growth of the Centre's activities. Considering these, the following funding pattern is envisaged:

Government Funding
   • Advanced / Futuristic Technologies.
   • Selected awareness creation programme.
   • Need based manpower / infrastructure development.
Industry Funding
   • Technology transfer fees / royalty payments to the Centre on successful completion of projects
      funded entirely by the Government.
   • Specific sponsored projects from user / manufacturing industries themselves to the Centre.

  Self Sustenance

Planning of the programme will be such that the financial support from the Government can taper off in the next 5 to 8 years to a minimum level. By that period, it is expected that a few of the technologies will be successfully translated to production in the national and the global level and self sustenance will be possible to continue the programme.
